The Commission will hold three hearings, back to back, on whether to approve three separate requests from Dominion Energy North Carolina (DENC), for electricity price changes. DENC filed the requests on August 9, 2022. By law, DENC can request price changes once a year for the following kinds of costs:

The public hearings on these three price change requests will begin at 10:00 a.m., on November 9, 2022, and proceed one after the other until concluded. Public witness testimony will be heard near the beginning of each proceeding. (For information on providing such testimony, click here.) After public witnesses are heard, the Commission will conduct expert witness hearing, including formal testimony from DENC’s expert witnesses. The Commission will begin with the renewable energy cost proceeding at 10:00 a.m. The exact timing of the hearings for the second and third proceedings cannot be predicted./p>
The Public Staff-North Carolina Utilities Commission will represent the using and consuming public during the expert witness hearing.
